Winning Fashion

Congratulations to all the winners from the Women of the Year Awards hosted by Harpers Bazaar UK, which took place at Claridges in London last night. Some of the winners included Stella McCartney for British Designer of the YearVivienne Westwood for Inspiration of the Year, and Anya Hindmarch for Businesswoman of the Year. Unfortunately there wasn’t an award for the best dressed of the night, but if there had been, it would have went to Emily Blunt. Her tangerine gown is from Alexander McQueen‘s 2013 Resort Collection, which she accessorized with a black satin Alexander McQueen clutch. Doesn’t she look flawless? xxSharona

The Fashionably Late Schiaparelli Relaunch

Excitement filled the air as Italian business man and Schiaparelli owner Diego Della Valle announced the plans for a relaunch of the Schiaparelli label earlier this year. It was no coincidence that the announcement coincided with the Met Costume Institute exhibit which celebrated the iconic Elsa Schiaprelli. The new designer for the label was set to be announced within weeks of the announcement, with the debut collection set to be ready for January 2013. As of last Thursday, Farida Khelfa, who is the labels spokeswoman, said a designer has not been found and the relaunch is more likely to debut Summer 2013 instead. Surely the designer will have some big shoes to fill, but all of us at EngieStyle are hoping they will find someone immediately as we are eager to see what’s next for the legendary label! xxSharona

Hermès Gets Technical

It looks like Hermès went geek-chic for their Fall/Winter 2012 collection of neckties! Eight ties from the collection feature motifs such as the on/off button, a USB logo, keyboard and the recycling logo. Although the computer inspired designs seem modern, the heavy silk twill ties are quite subtle and appear as an abstracted print. Technology seems to be quite inspiring! xxSharona

Saint Laurent Paris Makes A Debut

Heidi Slimane debuted his first collection for Saint Laurent Paris (no Yves in sight) on Monday at Paris Fashion Week. The show was influenced by classic 1970′s YSL fashions, brought back with a modern twist. The runway was filled with models wearing lace up dresses, oversized bows, capes and many other stand out pieces. Below are a few of my favorite looks from the show, Happy Fashion Weeek!

EngieStylin’ Fashion Week

Last night, EngieStyle produced and styled a fashion show at NYC hot spot Arena. The show featured Dore Designs Spring 2013 collection of spectacular floor length gowns. As famous faces were piling into the audience, the EngieStyle team was hard at work backstage making sure everything was perfect. Behind the scenes of a fashion show is pure adrenaline, as everything you have been working on is about to come together. The show was amazing if I do say so myself, and on behalf of the team I would like to thank everyone for their participation in making it happen! Most of all, shout out to Engie for being super talented and for being an inspiration to all of us!  xxSharona

Black, White, and Glowing All Over

Unless you have been sleeping, you were either in attendance at Alexander Wang‘s Spring 2013 runway show on September 8th, or heard how amazing it was. With a strict palette of black, white, tan and silver, Wang let the garments do the talking. The leather and rubberized twill collection included overlay tops, boxy dresses and cut-outs that came in all shapes and sizes. The striking gladiator sandals and knee high boots with cut-outs complimented the looks perfectly. The show’s finale included platinum blonde models clad in white, and a very cheerful audience as the lights went off and the models garments suddenly glowed in the dark. Now, that’s a finale.

Happy New York Fashion Week! xxSharona
