Anna, Always In Our Hearts

“She dresses the way one plays a role. She’s a great performer, but she is also the author of the play,” is something Karl Lagerfeld once said describing Anna Piaggi. Known for her expressive and eccentric style, the late fashion icon will always be remembered as one of the most influential people in the fashion industry. She was one of the most notable front row faces, and has a devoted following of her whimsical two page spreads in Vogue Italia . Her outfits were always carefully rendered although they may appear to be thrown together. She was always expressing a story through fashion and has said,” My philosophy of fashion is humor, jokes, and games. I make my own rules.” Anna was a muse to many influential designers such as Karl Lagerfeld, Manolo Blahnik and Stephen Jones.

Anna will be forever missed and always be in our hearts.

FNO: The London Edition

Not going to be in New York City for Fashion’s Night Out this year? Well… hopefully you will be in London. On September 6th, Mulberry creative director Emma Hill and British Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman will kick off FNO by hosting a party together. The rest of the nights events will include palm readings at Christian Louboutin‘s Mount street boutique, a street-style photography booth hosted by Jimmy Choo, and more. Jonathan Saunders designed the official T-shirt for this years event, which includes one of his signature prints. With a portion of the shirts proceeds going to Refuge (a charity for victims of domestic violence), this T-shirt is not only cute, but now charitable too. Win-win.

“Fashion Stole My Smile” -Beckham

“I actually used to smile a lot in pictures. I think I only stopped smiling when I got into fashion,” the former Spice Girl laughs. “Fashion stole my smile! I’ve created this person. And I’m not saying that’s not me, but I wouldn’t say that’s the whole me. It’s an armor that goes up.” (taken from US Weekly)

I admire Victoria Beckham and her unique style! She is an English fashion designer, former Spice Girl singer, businesswomen and wife of David Beckham. She has it all!

Dior Amor

Rachel Weisz was the second lucky person to wear a Christian Dior Couture dress from the debut collection of Raf Simmons. At The Bourne Legacy’s Monday night premiere, she let the dress do the talking. Rachel looked absolutely stunning in the minimalist look, pairing the ensemble with a black Charlotte Olympia clutch, a Bulgari bracelet, and fabulous see-through Christian Louboutin pumps. Gotta-Love-it!

Teresa Giudice

Hi fashionista’s, is anyone a New Jersey Housewives fan? Last night i was watching the new Sunday episode and Teresa showed us a new look. What do you guys think of her top? I loved her blouse and thought it was so fab!( wish i had it) Sometimes its great to have a big statement top like Teresa’s (shown below) with a black bottom or denim jeans and a pump for a simpler/ casual look. Stay Beautiful!

Fabulous Faves

Hi Fashionista’s! Check out my two fabulous faves of this week. This week Jessica Alba wore a very simple yet sleek look of Rodriguez, that I loved! (dont you agree?) Ms. Lovato surprised everyone with her vintage/retro look in Miami but i couldn’t help but adore it as well. It was very different for her however change in the closet can keep us on our toes! Which outfit would you wear the most? (click on the image) Stay Beautiful

Collar Craving

Does Karl Lagerfeld ever sleep? Three of the designers new lines were debuted in London last night at a private party. Karl Lagerfeld Paris Man, Karl and his capsule collection, which is appropriately Olympic themed, are all officially for sale at London’s trendy Selfridges stores. Unfortunately, the ‘Olympic’ goods, which includes gold splattered jackets and sequined collars, will only be sold in England. With no spandex in sight, Karl makes it a bit more attainable to rock gold around our necks.

Teen Choice Print Award

At last night’s 2012 Teen Choice Awards, as I watched to see ‘who wore what,’ I couldn’t help but notice all the lovely printed dresses on the pink carpet. The printed looks were seen on Kat  Graham, Victoria Justice, Hannah Simone and more, but my favorite printed dress of the night was worn by the night’s host, Demi Lovato. Her dress by Falguni and Shane Peacock, paired with Christian Louboutin‘s Exagona platform sandals were a great choice for the fun-filled award show.

Women Wearing White

Two of Gotham’s girls made a daring decision when they both decided to wear white to The Dark Knight Rises premiere on Monday night in NYC. Anne Hathaway and Marion Cotillard both stunned in their gowns, but Marion kills it, especially with her Christian Louboutin spiky sparklers. Anne chose a gown from Prabal Gurung‘s most recent resort collection, and Marion chose a Christian Dior haute dress. Do you agree that Marion was the night’s ‘Red Carpet Queen‘?

The Ultimate Grand Prize

Yesterday, the top ten finalists in the running to win the 2012 CFDA/ Vogue Fashion Fund competition were announced. The organization, which was established in 2003, is for budding designers that will compete for a mentorship from an industry icon, and a cash prize. By the end of the month, the designers will show their collections to a group of esteemed judges, which will be followed by designing jewelry for Tiffany & Co., and putting on a runway show at Los Angeles’s Chateau Mormont. Last year Joseph Altuzarra was the lucky winner, walking away with a $300,00 prize. On November 13 a winner will be declared, and one of the following finalists will win the ultimate grand prize….Good luck!
