A Cover Story

Sometimes things that are planned do not work out, yet it turns out for the better. Sound familiar? Anna Wintour seems to believe so, and so do I. For her first Vogue cover in November 1988, Wintour completely changed the look of what was expected of the magazines representation. A typical Vogue cover would portray a model clad in fancy jewelry and excess make-up, but this cover changed it all. Israeli model Michaela Bercu did not fit into the skirt that was meant to go with her top, so Wintour styled her in jeans instead. Michaela’s jeans were not the only thing out of the ordinary on this Vogue cover. The moment captured is candid, differentiating from the usual posed models, and this sparked something within Wintour. Regarding the iconic cover Wintour has said, “I had just looked at that picture and sensed the winds o f change,” and “This one broke all the rules.” She was bold since day one and was not scared to change things up, which is exactly how you must be in the lovely world of fashion. This was the beginning of a new era for Vogue, one we are still enjoying today.

Princess in Paris

I can’t get over Kristen Stewart’s transformation in July’s Vanity Fair photo spread. The photo shoot took place in Paris and was shot by renowned photographer Mario Testino.
Kristen dons Jean Paul Gaultier corsets, Faberge diamonds, and a whole lot of Parisian couture. She is joined by Karl Lagerfeld on set and refers to meeting him as a very important moment in her life. I’ll bet.

Perhaps playing a princess in this month’s Snow White and the Huntsman unleashed her inner princess? Whether or not that’s true, a princess was definitely born in Paris.

Prada’s Spring Collection Lands 45 Cover.. thus far

Once i saw the Lovely Anna Wintour wearing her Prada banana skirt during fashion week i knew everyone would go bananas for PRADA..
Prada’s Spring Collection Lands 15 Cover and were only in May (magazine wise)
Last season it was Miu Miu, specifically that one appliqued dress, that kept appearing on cover after cover, which i LOVED!! This season, Prada’s spring 2011 is sweeping the glossy covers , too. So far Prada’s colorful stripey bananas collection has seen 15 covers (that i’ve counted).
